Prior to my writing "gig" I served for a bit over 20 years in the USAF, retiring as a Major. Finishing a second Masters Degree, I went to work for the TX Dept. of Criminal Justice doing training and writing treatment programs for inmates with substance abuse problems. Toward the end of my work there, I became an Associate Clinical Psychologist doing mostly psychological intakes. I retired from there to care for my invalid mother upon the death of my father.
